Automations to Supercharge Personalization

Monday morning arrived with a burst of excitement as I shipped out four brand-new automation for Lifecycle marketing —what a fantastic way to kick off the week! Over the past few days, I’ve been orchestrating Python scripts, cron jobs, and Render.com deployments with Blueprints to ensure every user gets dynamic, tailored property recommendations and never misses out on a great deal.
To bring this vision to life, I created a Daily Sync process for three key data-driven updates:
1. Recommendations for You: By analyzing on-site behavior (e.g., pages viewed, clicks, and previous bookings), we curate the top three properties each user is most likely to love.
2. Nearby Recommendations: Our script checks a user’s saved locations or recent stays, hunting for properties in a similar region—no more guesswork, just relevant suggestions.
3. Wishlisted Property Recommendations: Users who add properties to a wishlist now receive follow-up nudges when similar or related listings come online.
The Weekly Sync focuses on a “Weekly Deals” collection, where the system identifies which listings have seen the biggest price drops. It automatically refreshes a data set in CustomerIO—keeping our Lifecycle marketing fresh and making sure users always see the latest bargains. This not only streamlines our marketing team’s efforts but also ensures communications hit the right audience at the right time, with minimal manual overhead.
Every Manual task is a bug in the system, automate them all.
Python scripts that fetch user activity analyze property updates and push the curated sets back into our CRM.
Hosting everything on Render.com keeps the infrastructure lean and straightforward, so I can concentrate on building better experiences rather than babysitting servers. The result? More personalized user journeys, higher engagement, and much more flexibility for the team to tweak automation or roll out new ones.
It’s thrilling to see how data and technology can align perfectly to deliver exactly what users need—often before they even know they need it.
With these automations now live, our personalization capabilities are stronger than ever, and I can’t wait to explore what else we can accomplish next!
